There's not a lot of writing going on this month. Instead, there's a whole lot of 'life' and travel happening, which might lead later on to some words. The common denominator this summer (so far) is sun - not something I say very often from my flat in Scotland - the luxury of reading for pleasure and most of all, spending time with friends.
The school holidays got off to a great start with a last minute ('Where can we fly to, cheaply, from Edinburgh, this Monday...?') jaunt to Corfu. A writer friend, me, and two of our combined three boys, enjoyed a lot of swimming, even more food, and the bliss of reading under the shade of a perfectly-placed Greek tree! And, of course, some product placement was essential...
And from Corfu, the next stop was...Peterborough. About a hundred years ago (well, forty-five - gulp) I went to school in a village nearby and this was a reunion with three friends: Kay, Lisa and Adrienne. I'm not sure how suspicious we looked, driving the streets to take selfies outside houses and landmarks, but the slightly depressing answer was probably not at all!
So, we didn't make Portugal this year, but good news - The Almost Truth did. Thank you, Sandra!
August? Well, that might be about writing retreats...if I'm lucky.
