After competing local ly and then nationally, Bhola's Children was invited to send five of our talented young athletes out to the Berlin Special Olympic as a part of Bangladesh delegation.
Every child of Bhola's Children makes us proud every day, but this 'famous five' are the heroes of the hour, bringing home a total of seven medals: 4 Gold, 2 Silver, 1 in 4th place.
None of them had left Bangladesh before, all of them are hearing impaired, and all shone in their particular sport.
The roll of honour is as follows:
- Gold in 200 meter sprint male - MD Biplob (AKA Omor Faruk)
- Silver in 100 meter sprint male - MD Biplob (AKA Omor Faruk)
- Gold in 100 meter sprint female - Shinthia
- Forth in 400 meter sprint female - Shinthia
- Gold in Football - Achia Bibi, Akhi Begum
- Silver in 200 meter sprint female - Tanjum (AKA Tanjila)
A little love can go a long way. A lot of dermination can go a long way. The support of peers, well-wishers, professionals and the Board pulls it all together.
